THE GREEK WINE ROAD-10 DAYS

Day 1

Welcome to Athens! Our guide will be expecting you at the airport and you will be heading to your accommodation where you can grab a snack before you begin your first tour. You will be arriving by minivan, at a famous wine estate not far away from the city’s center. The estate includes a very modern winery, which uses the production of its own vineyards. As part of the manor's wine museum, modern tools are also on display to give a clearer picture of the history and the way wine is made. You will be able to taste the most famous products and purchase them at a special price. Late in the afternoon, there will be plenty of time for dining at an exceptional restaurant in the heart of the city.

Day 2

Another day, another magical experience! Get ready for an unusual experience in the beautiful Athens Riviera which is the perfect setting for a unique private wine tasting tour on a luxurious yacht. Let yourself sail along the city’s coastline up to the point of the Temple of Poseidon. Prior to your tasting, you are free to take a dive at the deep blue crystal waters around you. Feel the breeze and the salty air while tasting the most exquisite wines. You can choose between a half-day or a full-day tour. You will have your private sommelier to guide you in this adventure. In addition to your wine, you can admire the scenery of the Athenian sunset. Overnight in Athens.

Day 3

After a good breakfast, you will be traveling with your guide to Peloponnese where another wine tasting experience awaits you. Your first stop will be at the Cavino Winery in the Aigio region where you will be tasting 8 different labels of wine. The tour continues with your arrival at the Diakopto area. You will be traveling by train through a magnificent route of canyons and green fields until arriving in the “Mega Spileon” vineyards in Kalavryta. Taste four different types of exquisite wine alongside an opulent meal. Overnight in Kalavryta.

Day 4

Early in the morning, you will be arriving at the Kilini port heading towards Kefalonia island. After your arrival and some time for relaxation at your accommodation in the Liksouri region, you are free for the day to explore this majestic island. Our guide will be constantly with you providing you with useful information. You will enjoy amazing beaches with turquoise waters equipped with sunbeds and beach bars where you can relax under the sunlight while having refreshing drinks and snacks. Late in the afternoon, you will dine at an exceptional restaurant and you are free for night walks.

Day 5

The day starts with you visiting a remarkable winery with a very special technique. Bottles of the famous red wine “Mavrodaphne”, the white muscatel wines, and a variety of rosé wines, are placed in amphoras under the water, exactly as they did at ancient times. The wines are naturally aged without any chemical additions and that is the way their quality stands out. Later on, you will be having dinner including fresh fish and seafood such as mussels and shrimp. Overnight in Kefalonia.

Day 6

Good morning! After your breakfast, you will be departing from Kefalonia to Athens, as you have a flight for Santorini to catch! With your arrival at one of the most scenic places in Greece, you will have a short break at your hotel at Fira, before taking off for another expedition. You will be having a tour including sightseeing at the different beaches around the island while. Ammoudi, the Red Beach, Thirasia, and the White Beach, are only a few of the marvelous coasts that will blow you away. Moreover, you can of course dive in every single coast you visit, and have lunch including local food. The evening is yours for night strolling at Fira the capital of Santorini. 

Day 7

We hope that you slept well because today you will be heading at a winery that holds a special secret. Here, not only will you find the best quality of wines, originating strictly from this island, but you will also be amazed by the aging technique used during the production of their wine. This winery is the first to age wine bottles at sea bottom without any oxygen passing through them. Thus, emphasizing the wine’s flavor and aroma. You will taste the unique flavor of the ‘Thalassitis’ wine while you enjoy some of their delicacies. Overnight in the beautiful Santorini.

Day 8 & 9

These two days include breakfast at your stay, and you are free for exploration of the island. The places you can visit are the famous Oia, Imerovigli, Firostefani, Pyrgos and many more. If you wish to visit one of its imposing volcanoes, we can arrange it for you. Next, you can choose where you would like to have your lunch and dinner full of local delicacies both savory and sweet. Overnight in Santorini.

Day 10

After having a good breakfast and deciding which kinds of bottle wines you will be purchasing and taking with you, our guide will escort you until your arrival at the airport of Santorini to catch the flight for your way back home.
