Zero kilometers food in Mycenae – Peloponnese

Imagine this scene: Sitting under an aged old plane tree, next to a fountain, hearing waterfalls and flowing streams, an authentic local café-restaurant will serve you only local seasonal food. The permanent population of the village is just 3 families who are shepherds. They own sheep and goats & make cheese with old methods maturing them in caves.

Zero kilometers - Back to our roots!

From a really ancient place where Titan Oceanus and Tethys gave birth to Inachus
one of the River Gods, that’s where the history of Peloponnese starts. Considered
to be a place of purification for men in antiquity.

Discover Mycenae: A perfect one-day trip destination two hours long from Athens, also ideal for limited time travel.

  • Visit the Folklore Museum with a private collection of traditional Greek costumes, coins, farm tools
  • Learn the history of this village through books and old photos
  • Attend cooking classes in a traditional tavern and prepare meals on an open fire or on the wooden stove
  • Collect herbs such as wild greens, oregano & mountain tea
  • Visit a rare cave which was once a place of worship in antiquity
  • Visit a local farm to milk goats or sheep - ‘become a shepherd for a day’
  • Drink and refill your bottles with fresh water from natural springs
  • Celebrate or organize a party there! At summertime the village’s square can accommodate up to 300 people
